SAW TIME! It's what we've all been waiting for!! (well, all those sicked minded people that is...) I am super stoked, you have no idea- well unless you REALLY know me, like in person, than you know how much of a Saw FANATIC I really am! Hell, I was willing to spend $1,000+ to go to New York City for a few days to meet the cast and buy golden tickets, but unfortunately couldn't afford it. I'm still really bummed out about that. On the other hand, they will probably do a HUGE finale next year since it's the last SAW. :( :(
Watch the preview here!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5a0TTBqxpE
I saw one preview where it shows that the potential next jigsaw is the Detective, I forgot his name- sorry. He's the only one left, so you should know what I'm talking about. Actually, NO! It's either him or the doctors husband.. I know it'll have to do with his daughter, because she's still trapped in a room with limited air and they never mentioned anything about her in Saw IV until the end.. I CAN'T WAIT!
I bought my tickets two weeks ago just in case it got sold out. OF COURSE I bought the Opry Land IMAX midnight showing tickets. There is no other way to go! I did that last year and it blew me away!! They also did a sequel showing at the theater, and probably going to do it again this year, but I don't think I'll go, I have all them at home anyways.
I swear I'm a sick, sick person deep down. I get really over excited about this movie, and I get this weird evil feeling on the inside- like a pleasure when I seem something gorey- like a guy sheer his face off with blades! OOOHHHHH I CANT WAIT
Anyways... on another note- what are you guys being for Halloween? Aaron and I are going as Nerds, and I got him to dress up like Neapolean DyNOmite! Oh, and of course I'll be the little slutty school girl, it's always nice- haha. I fucking love Halloween, I'm sick on the inside, I know it. :)

Needed Update

Hey y'all what's everyone been up to? (I'm not sure who even reads my blog...) As you know from the previous blog, I quit the RAW thing, and went back to cooked food. However, I didn't go back to my frozen dinner in a bag, high fat ways- I eat a lot healthier now! I'm watching my fat intake like CRAZY but I really think it's working. I haven't weighed myself in a week, but I know I've lost some weight because my workout clothes aren't as tight and my ACU's are actually BIG on me again, yay!! I finally got through the portion control phase, and I eat only when I'm hungry, not when I'm bored. (I was really bad at that!) I cut out all sodas, chips, and salty things out of my diet. Well, not ALL salt, but the majority of it. I think most of the weight I had was water retition and that has a lot to do with me piling on salt on all my food. Ever heard of the Salt Tooth? Yea, that's what I have. I'm still eating after 7:00, but I really have no choice when I dont get out of class until 8:30. All I eat that is meat is Chicken, and every once and awhile some hamburger meat. Chicken is the lowest in fat and also my favorite. However- it's never fried, and always boiled, yum. :) I'm still eating carbs, and i know those are 'bad carbs' but I eat them because of my running routine, carbs fuel you, oh and they taste good!! ha! I sterred away from White Rice and 'white' pasta and I get very high fiber, whole grain wheat bread and pasta. I got into peanut butter too, it's a good source of protein. I get the LOW fat, so it's ok. I'm still eating Bananas, they do wonders for my cramps when I run.
I've been running for about 2 months now, and just last week I realized I've been running FLAT footed. If any of you out there run, you know what I'm talking about. Ugh, I was having horrible shin splints EVERY time and I was like wtf is wrong with me??!?! Thank god I finally fixed it and I run with bigger strides, and I can run longer, who would have known!?! Haha I currently can run one mile under 9min, which is a big deal for me- but who know what it would be if i had realized this earlier.. I got P90X a couple a weeks ago, and it's a great program, but I had to quit after the 2nd week because of my PT test coming up (Tomorrow), I didn't want to mess up anything. I plan on starting again on Monday, so wish me luck.
Aaron moved in last month and everything is going great!! :) He's gone all the time tho, down in Cornersville working with his dad, kinda sucks. :( I love it tho when he's home. :) :)
Halloween is coming up and I CAN'T WAIT!! Guess what else?? SAW V is coming out! YES!!! I love this part of the year!! :)
Seee yaaaa

Not as easy as I thought

I've been trying really hard to stick with the RAW food lifestyle, but it seems like I keep falling back to SAD. I've pretty much read all of the 811 book, and everything makes sense. Even that part where he says everyone in the world knows that cigarettes causes cancer, but we still continue to smoke them. That's the same thing with SAD food with me. The book makes so much sense and lays it out on the table, but I still put it aside. They put these additives in our 'junk food' to keep us coming back for more, that really REALLY surprised me- but it makes sense, right? Aaron and I went climbing with a couple of friends this weekend, and I just felt so unmotivated and felt like I had to eat all the time. (Although the entire time I ate good, Raw food- except for at night) First off I'm not a good climber, I'm not strong at any means so most of the time I just sat there- to be honest I was quite bored most of the time, and it sucked because I forgot my science homework to do while I was there. I kinda felt depressed at times too, because I couldn't be involved with everyone else. I guess it's not really my fault, but it still sucked. I'd much rather been at home, watching TV or something than be in the wood being left out. Like I said, not my fault, it just sucked. I agreed to go along with Aaron and have a good time with him, since we never get to see each other in the first place.
I've come to realize that I can go the whole day Raw, but when it comes to night I crave the cooked foods the most. I think most of it is that I'm not getting enough calories, food- in my body. I'm weak all the time, never feeling motivated to do anything. I feel best when I run, but I can because i'm so weak. I eat the cooked food so I don't feel empty. When I do eat cooked food, I feel like I'm letting my self down, like I'm doing a bad thing. I don't want to feel guilty eating the foods I love. I don't think I can do this whole Raw Food thing- I'm only doing it because I want to lose weight. I've gained 30 FAT pounds in the past 6 months, and I think I look disgusting. I blame it on birth control, but I really don't know where it all came from. Even my mom says I'm getting fat- and it's so disgusting. I've seen myself thinner, a more fit Me. I hate having to buy 'lounge pants' to wear all the time because I can stand buying double digit jeans. I'm tired of putting up with me fat self, but I can't deprive myself from food. I can't punish myself by not eating enough food. Raw food doesn't satisfy me, and I'm tired of eating the same food all the time. 6 peaches a day doesn't go well for me. I have to eat more. I can do the Raw food for breakfast and lunch, just not for dinner. I'm tired of looking this way, and I'm determined to do what it takes to lose this weight. I want to go back to the way I used to look. I want it bad enough, and it's going to happen- one way or another.

I'll update you with my progress and exercise routine.

[Cora]

My energy is back

I stayed home today again from work, but by the end of the day I felt a lot better. I still have a lo of appetite, although I'm forcing myself to eat. I'm so weak and tired all I want to do it sleep. I didn't go to work today either, because of the pain. Turns out I have a really bad bladder infection. She says its normal for your kidneys and back to be hurting as well. The big thing that sucks about it is that its keeping me from doing my normal everyday things, like preparing food for instance. I just have no energy to do anything. Going to the doctor then filling my prescription wore me out. The antibiotic she gave me knocks me out, so how am I supposed to take it? I have to take it twice a day, I can do it once at night- but i have work and school the other parts of the day, and I can't necessarily miss school. I've been drinking cranberry juice like crazy, hoping it would help me out. My urine is so dark, it's scary. She said everything will be OK, but I just hate feeling like this, and being so down. Another reason why this all happened is the new BC my Gyno prescribed me, LoEstrine 24 Fe. I've read up on a lot of side effects, and it listed every one I am having. He said to keep taking it for alteast a month, and if nothing changes, then to quit taking it. I feel really horrible, I wish all this would go away.

Raw, but weak.

I've been feeling really sick lately. I'm not sure if it's from the weekend of chowing down on cooked food and meat, or that I'm really getting sick. I'm not to sure, but I'm always sick to my stomach. I have a UTI, and it makes me not want to eat or more-so drink anything. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to see what's up with me. Today was horrible, I just felt sick and down all day at work. Maybe it's because I'm depriving my body of the nutrients it needs, I haven't ate any greens in a long time. (except for today) I really haven't been eating much since this weekend, my stomach is just so messed up. All I want to do is sleep, in hope that it would go away.

Today was the first day of classes. I'm a Sophomore now in College, it feels great. I love learning new things, but I also hate all the stress that comes with it. Since I'm taking night classes, I'm going to figure out some how to work in my food for dinner- I really don't like eating after 7.

I had my Physical Science and Art Appreciation classes today. My Physical science teacher is pretty cool. I thought he was a totally nerd at first, and well- I still think that. It's funny watching teachers with their new class- especially when they're nervous. It seems like it's going to be a pretty fun class, so i'm looking forward to it.
Art. Art appreciation. Not only was I warned about the 'Art Nazi' but I got lucky enough to get her for my teacher. Ms. Hill. She's really chirpy and funny and knows a lot about art. Myself, I know very little and not very in tune with my art side. I've already got an assignment, and I'm actually looking forward to it. The assignment: write a 2 page report about a sunset or sunrise. What other PERFECT way to do that, and acknowledge everything around you, other than CAMPING! We're going this weekend, so I'm stoked!! We have to go to 3 different art museums/ galleries and I really want to go to a www.postsecret.com gallery show; hopefully they have one going on around here sometime.

About my raw diet: I need to eat more.

[Cora]

Not so Raw

This weekend was bad. Lets just say I've gained 4lbs, I'm day- you do the math. Gross.

Anyways, all together- I had a great weekend. I spent it with Aaron and got him all moved out of his old house/apt and into mine! (well, now- ours.) We pretty much worked our asses off to get it done.
Friday night Aaron and I went to eat Sushi, I mostly ate vegetarian rolls, but they still had the sticky rice on it. (which i found to be not-so-tasty.) I felt bloated and nasty afterwards, thx sushi. Aaron's friend Joy from Nossi had a graduation party Saturday night. It was a pretty cool party, even though we did get there 8 hours late- it was all cool tho, that's when the party actually started to get poppin! It was funny, I met an Idian guy who works with my mom. Funny this ins tho- is that he knew who she was by her big hair and loud and crazy voice. Haha, yes- that's my mom. =] Well- I had a cheeseburger that night along with 4 cheese cakes cubes (they were DELISH!). (Oh, i also had Chick fila breakfast- it was quite nasty as well..)
This morning i made that apple-banana oatmeal, which was AWESOME! We did some cleaning and sorting of the apartment and went to the gym at 12.(had 2 banans!) Stayed there til 3 and went back to his old house and cleaned up the rest of it and left. He was kinda sad when he left, but he's more excited about living with me. =]
We got home and i cooked myself a whole package of mac and chz and ate it all by myself. Yea i know- gross. Whatever it's ok i'll get back on track. It's so hard to get back in line, even with just ONE wrong move, ugh- I blame it all on Aaron.

Today while I was cutting cantaloupe i sliced the fuck out of my thumb, almost half up up the tip- ouch! I was a trooper and continued cutting, but then realized it was gushing blood everywhere, nice. I just got over a cut (from romaine) and now another one! UGH! I still have those f'ing fruit flies, and i hate them. They're too smart for my fly catcher- they see all the other guys stuck on it, and say 'fuck that!' and hide i guess.

OHHHH!!! Aaron finally got me my birthday present! He got me a bike!! We went riding together this morning aroung 7:30 and went on a journey!! We went down my regular path where i run, but kept going. We ending up running into a boat dock by the River with paths all around it, man it rocked! Can't wait to do that again. My new training is going to involve my bike, in between run days. =] I might even start riding it to school, I've got to get a lock. I mean, after all school IS just across the street! SCORE!

First day of class starts tomorrow, and i'm not looking forward to it. I'm DEF not looking forward to dropping all that change on new books. ugh =[

Aaron and I and hopefully a bunch of other people are going to The Obed this weekend. I'm so stoked, it's going to be so much fun. I'm buying new climbing shoes on Friday, so I'm super excited.

Day 8 Raw (100%)

Todays weigh in: 149
It seems like i've losing an average of 2lbs a day- is that normal? I mean, after all- I DO have a lot of excess weight on me and i'm running every other day...

I really need to be getting some more calories! If i'm going to be doing the 80/10/10 thing, and be on a 2,000 calorie diet everyday, i need to pick up the pace!

Maybe it's because i've been eating Melons for the past two days, and they are really filling!!

Breakfast: 1/2 watermelon
Lunch: 1/2 honeydew and 2 bananas (and that was it for my work day... i usually eat WAY more!)

I ran like crap today, again- not because of my legs or because i got of breath, but beacause i'm not HYDRATED!!! Sure, I pee a lot- because of all the water in the fruit I eat, but i'm not drinking NEARLY enough water I need to be drinking. So- drink up! I only ran 1.4 miles today- but i did feel it, in my legs AND my abs! Go me! I'm really proud of myself that i'm actually doing it, going out and running by myself! It's rly hard going by yourself, because of the lack of motivation- but I just give myself pep talks and talk shit to myself when I slow down. (Ha, i know- but hey it works!)
Aaron and I are going to go to the Gym on Sunday, probably all day so that will be fun, I hope. I need to work on my upper body strength, so i'm sure that will do it for me! =] Ash- you gonna be there? Maybe we can boulder or something together, I seem to like that a lot more than doing routes. =]

So, up until yesterday I had no clue about peaches. Get this: I thought you couldn't eat the red stuff!! LOL I cut around it, and probably only got about 1/3 of the peach. My BFF April's grandma has a garden (which I will get hooked up with fruits and vegs, YES!!!) and brought me some peaches over. Now, i'm not talking about those store bought tiny peaches, i'm talking HUGE ASS PEACHES! Yea, they were freakin awesome and they just peeled off the seed like butter! Oh, those peaches rocked.

Peach seeds? I never knew there was an actual SEED inside the PIT of the peach! I accidently cut it while I was on the phone with Aaron.. and I thought it was a good idea to take a bite out of it.. well it was ok at first then in a SPLIT SECOND it was horrible!! Yea, never do that.

Post run food: 2 peaches, sliced and diced. =] (with the 'red stuff' lol)

Aaron and I are going out to this Sushi bar downtown he's been wanting to take me forever now.. I'm not going to get any meat on with my Sushi, instead i'll get the California rolls, or whatever they are called. I'm not sure if anything in that is cooked or not (well, the rice is..) but i'm sure it won't be that bad. =] I'm eating peaches now, so i most likely won't be that hungry.
(I'll update later after the dinner.)

HEY ASH! If you read this, CALL ME!!
Aaron and I are planning on making a big trip to The Red next weekend, Labor Day Weekend and staying til Monday night. (Monday is labor day, so no school!!!)

Call me and let us know if you want to go, it would be awesome!!! (Plus I haven't seen you since you first went Raw!)

Day 7 (100%)

Yesterdays weight: 153
Todays: 151 (YES!!!)

So far i've lost 7lbs. That's awesome. =]

HEY!! Today makes one week raw! Go me!
I got my 80/10/10 book yesterday and can't seem to put it down! I'm gonna start following his guidelines, they don't seem that hard. (pretty much just stay away from nuts, right? I don't eat that much anyways.) Everything in that book is so much common sense, it's like- why haven't I payed attention to this before? That's right, I didn't care about my health- well now I do!

Breakfast: I sliced a watermelon in half this morning and took it to work with me. I didn't think of it til afterwards, but it wasn't cold, it was just room temperature. (I had no room in the fridge) It was OK and i loved making melon balls out of it. =] My co-worker across the hall came in, and he's like 'what the hell? Are you serious? A Watermelon?' Haha, i just laughed and said yes. I had oranges and bananas in case i got hungry, but that held me over until lunch time. (11)

Lunch: I had a bowl of cantaloupe i cut up last night and ate some of it. It might have been that I was still full from watermelon, or that I was sick of melons.. but i only have about half of the bowl, if that. I didn't want to go hungry, so I remembered I still had some of my green smoothie (From yesterday) left over in the fridge. Unfortunately I did not have a straw, so I was brave and walked around (with my GREEN smoothie in hand!) asking for straws. Boy, did I get a lot of responses!! haha!
Ever striving for attention? Walk around with a bright green smoothie in a clear glass, that's sure to get ya' some! ha!! The first response I had was from Mr. Angus 'i keep telling ya if you don't eat your meat you're gonna die!!' HAHA i just laughed and kept searching for my straw! Cox was like 'wtf are you drinking, baby shit?" lol he's so funny. Everyone had different responses, none good. LOL Mr. Angus wanted to try some, and he loved it! HA TO YOU! Oh, that smoothie was good, too bad it had to end. =[

Snack: Peaches and bananas. Yum

I had a appointment with my new doctor, and he seems pretty cool and down to earth! (Even tho he is old...) After that I went to publix to get me some more spinach, I was running out. Like it always goes, i got more than I intended on buying. I got some sprouts!! and some Sprout snacks! i'm not sure if they're 80/10/10, but they're pretty awesome! I've never thought i'd be eating 'grass' but it's going to be awesome to make a salad with them tonight! I also bought some pre-peeled and pulled apart garlic cloves, to makes things a little spicy! I think mangos are my new favorite fruit, because everytime i go to the store, i get mangos, haha.

What have I noticed being Raw?
1) I pee a lot. About 10 times a day, no kidding. I think it's because fruit is like 80% water, so that makes since right? I don't drink that much water, so that has to be it!
2) I also poo a lot! (I know, TMI!) At least it's not diarrhea!!
3) I'm not as tired as I used to be. I could have stayed up all night last night, but I knew I had to be up early, so I did myself a favor and went to sleep. OMG and I also did something REALLY REALLY bad last night! While I was sleeping, I moved my leg and felt something I thought was my cat. I tried moving it, and she just scotted a little bit. (usually she jumps off the bed) Well, then I pushed her off my bed with my big ol' leg of mine and sent her flying! (No, it gets worse!) The only thing was tho, was that it was my DOG! I forgot I put her on my bed last night (and it's too high for her to jump off of) and i totally kicked her off my bed!!! OMG she got up and ran away. I felt really, really bad. Poor Minnie.
4) I'm way more energetic, like I'm always wanting to go do something.
5) I run a HELL OF A LOT BETTER! No more cramps! Yay!
6) The whites of my eyes are brighter. (Carrots, maybe?)
7) I'm not bloated like I used to ALWAYS be. =]

Today I saw a mailman check his own mail. Have you ever seen that? I thought it was odd, AND he was riding a motorcycle! (In his mailman uniform!!) It was a site to see!!!

Day 6 (100%)

Yesterdays weight: 155

Todays weight: 153

Today I have insane amount of energy!! I think it's because of my kale/banana/mango smoothie I had this morning. I pretty much ate all day, so I never had that hungry feeling. I didn't have a headache today either, which was nice.

Breakfast: Green smoothie and banana/apple 'oatmeal' with glass of water.

Lunch: Salad (Romaine, spinach, cilantro, tomatoes, celery, cucumber, lime and lemon juice with sun flower seeds.) It was shredded, and tasted REALLY bad, so I didn't eat much.
Snack: Honeydew Melon =] and 3 bananas.

I went running today, by myself (it sucks by yourself) and went only about 1 1/4 mile, but I rean really, really good. Maybe it was all the bananas I ate today.

I got my 80/10/10 book today, and it's AMAZING! I'm only half way thru the first chapter, and i'm already moved. =] Thx Ash!

Dinner: I plan on making another salad, or something and eat it.

Raw is good. =]

Day 5 of RAW (95%)

Yesterdays weight: 156.5
Todays weight: 155.2

I always weigh myself in the morning.

So, today was another bad day- not raw wise, just work- it was a killer. I won't get into any details, but lets just say that I had a migraine all day and was cramping, being a girl blows.

So anyways- what I ate today:

Breakfast: Apple-Banana 'oatmeal' , 2 Bananas, 1 Tangelo, 2 kiwis and some water.

Lunch: I had my everyday salad, but without the avocado. The celery i picked up at publix the other day was apparently bad, so i couldn't use much of it. I used a whole head of romaine lettuce this time, instead of half. While i was eating it, it tasted really bad, but i didn't want to waste it and have nothing else to eat. I'm pretty sure it's because i didn't have enough lime and lemon juice in it, but oh well.

Dinner: When i came home i was feeling really bad, so i didn't have anything until around 6:00. I had a honeydew melon and got my BRAND NEW melon scooper and made melon balls!!! (See pics!) I ate a half a melon, and some multi-grain crackers. (not raw, but that was the only not-raw thing i ate today.) That's pretty much all I ate for lunch, oh well- i wasn't that hungry.

Making my salads in the morning is very time consuming, so i decided to make my salads before i go to sleep. We'll see how well this goes down tomorrow, hopefully it's not soggy. Oh, i also decided to try out my food processor chopper to chop up my salad, to save time- and all it did was shred it, so i hope it's not all mushy tomorrow, either.

Oh, i made my very own KALE smoothie. Ok- i'm really, really afraid of kale. I bought it two weeks ago, and i HAVE to use it before it goes bad. So i made a smoothie:
Kale
1 Mango (Hardest thing EVER to cut if you don't know what you're doing!!!)
1 Banana
2 cups water

Blend. It's actually not that bad, and i'll be having that in the morning along with my banana-apple oatmeal. =]

[Cora]

Day 4 of RAW

First off, lets say today was INSANE! I was so busy today at work, i didn't get to eat until 10:30..

So by 10:30 I was starving, and all I had to eat was 1 banana before lunch.
So i finally got to leave work for lunch at 11:30 (30 minutes past my usual lunch time.) I went to the gym with Aaron last night for his photo shoot, so I wasn't at home in the morning to make myself my salad..
I left for lunch, and went to Chic Fila. I originally was going to just get a Salad, but i was really really starving, so i got the number 4. (chic strips and fries with a lemonade) I used to eat this all the time, and it wasn't even good. The fries tasted like grease and the chicken tasted like rubber. I ate not even half of it and got sick and had to quit eating. I would have much rather had a salad. I should have just went home and made one, but I had a huge migraine from the morning and was starving.
As soon as i got home I was craving some oatmeal. So i made my apple and banana oatmeal and ate it up. Yum.

For dinner I had some vegetable soup and crackers.

Today was just not my day.
I'll pick back up tomorrow.

When i started, I weighed 156
Yesterday I weigh 153, today i weigh 156.7

Today just sucked. I hate Mondays.

Update on RAW

Originally I was going to post all my blogs on livejournal.com- but i like this site a lot better. The only downside is that I can't update it while I'm at work, so it's kind of inconvenient.

I started RAW again on the 15th, and I've done pretty damn good so far. (Not perfect)
Progress:

Day 1: (100% raw) Friday
Breakfast: 2 bananas, grapefruit, tangelo, and a glass of orange juice. (I think i need to eat more in the morning)
Lunch: Amazing salad. Content: Romaine lettuce, 1/2 hass avocado, raw sun flower seeds, a few grape tomatoes, celery, chopped carrots, topped off with lime and lemon juice- with pepper and lemon pepper.
Dinner: Raw oatmeal, it was gross- haha (See pics) I got some organic rolled oats and added some Nut Milk, by the end of it it got real chalky, and i had to throw it away.

Day 2: (60% raw?) Saturday
Breakfast: I had this AWESOME 'oatmeal'- great idea Ash gave me, i love, love LOVE it! You put a banana and a apple in a processor and chop it all up! (See pics!)

Lunch: I went to Chilis and had a 'Fajita Explosion Salad' with chicken.. it was really good, aside from the chicken. I had 1 or 2 pieces, it tasted like sponge to me- so i didn't eat the rest of the chicken. I wouldn't say that salad was the rawest of salads, but whatever- it was the best they had. Oh, i also had bean queso dips with chips, so i cheated, a lot on that meal. (I felt bloated and horrible afterwards, so punishment- right?)

Dinner: I had a huge, huge salad. (The same as above, but with a whole head of romaine.) I made some for Aaron too, and he loved it! =] It was so huge, i couldn't eat it all- so i save it and ate the rest of it Sunday night.

Day 3: (75% raw)
Breakfast: I made another raw oatmeal, and this time i didn't cut up my apple before i processed it.. and pretty much made it like a banana pudding, ugh- i hate pudding.. I had bought some 'Bear Naked' granola, and it seemed pretty legit- so i added it to that and kind of made a cereal, it was good.

Lunch/Dinner: Aaron and I went to Ruby Tuesday and I had a salad...(I put limes and lemon juice on it instead of dressing, so me!) ... along with the trio burgers. (Crab cake, turkey, and beef..) --I felt bad, and bloated afterwards..

Aaron had a photo shoot at the climbing Gym, and i brought my salad from the night before and ate it, it was better than before! =]

Running Raw

Ok, so i've decided that i really need to get back into the groove of running... AND being Raw.

First off- Running.. it makes me feel great! (After the hurting goes away) I found my ipod transmitter for my Nike+ shoes (www.nikeplus.com) and it makes me even more stoked to run again! I've been running, but running like CRAP! I've never really been into running, but it's really starting to change my mind every time i go out there and run. I wish i had a bike, because i like biking as well. I was going to make an entire new blog about running, but i'll just involve it with my raw lifestyle blog.

Speaking of Raw.. i totally relapsed a week ago. I got a dehydrator, and thought i was set.. well it turned out that dehydrator heats up WAY too high, so i'm going to have to save up and get another one. It turns out that i really don't have anything to show me what i can make, that doesn't involve 3 days ahead of time preparation. That's what i like about cooking food, it fast and simple. I ordered a book off Amazon called "Raw Foods made easy for 1 or 2 people", and it got great reviews, and supposed to be a really great starter RAW book. Hopefully that will help me out alot! I'm not only going to the Raw lifestyle, but also vegetarian.. Being vegetarian isn't looking to be too hard, but doing it all at once- shit it's hard! One thing i noticed tho, i ate mac and cheese the other day, and it was gross! (and i usually LOVE mac and chz)

I really miss how it felt being raw. It made me feel so energized and alive. I've noticed a HUGE change in my run, not cramping up as much- and that's mostly due to eating a lot of bananas. (So that's one good factor in my health!) I've lost about 5 pounds, which isn't really anything at all. I've been wanting to lose about 30- so hopefully me getting back into Running will help that out, alot.

Well, wish me luck! I'm starting my Raw Diet again starting the 1st of July.
I swear.

Relasping

You don't even know what i've been eating over the past week...
Not only have i felt bad in the inside, but felt SICK to my stomach, dammit.
I keep blaming it on that i dont have much money, but i know it's just to giving in...

HELP!

I felt so much better and so much alive when i ate Raw food.
I really need a reciepe book that tells me how to fix, easy, simple
meals- that doesn't require a Dehydrator or something that takes
5 days in advance.

I really need some of ya'll help!

Cooked over the weekend.

So i was doing sooo great last week, sticking to the Raw thing, and told myself that I was going 100% Raw starting Monday..(today).
Well, the weekend was bad, real bad! One thing i noticed is that cooked food gives me gas, BAD GAS!! I'm serious, i regretted it 10 minutes after i ate, srsly. So did Aaron!! HA!!
So, i pretty much had no choice but to eat cooked food this weekend because i was over Aaron's parents house, and they don't even have bananas! (good thing i brought my own!)
I also ate a chicken sandwhich and fries from Chic Fila today only because i was freakin starving...i brough a huge salad for lunch today... and turned out i put a month and half OLD salad dressing (not raw, i know i know- i need to make some!... any suggestions?) I realized it about half way thru my salad, then felt sick and quit eating. So i was starving- i know it's not an excuse, but I was also traveling to M'boro.

Free Stuff!!!
So on a brighter side, Aaron's mom- Linda- gave me some awesome FREE gifts!! First off, she gave me a Dehydrator! (I'm still checking on the brand to see if it's OK to use with fruits, and not higher than 110 degrees..) She also gave me a VINTAGE 21 years old Food processor. Now, don't let the age fool you, it was barely used!! It has a hell of a motor on it too, it'll slice off a finger in a heartbeat, literally!! It also has an additional attachment with it so you can slice, dice, and shred fruits and veggies! Talk about a WINNER! It's great!!
I also went and bought me a Juicer @ walmart for $30. It's great! It seperates the juice from the pulp, i love it. I'm kind of disappointed tho, i'm going to have to juice like a whole bag of apples to get one serving of juice! =[

Life
Aaron is still gone at his parents house working for his dad, so it's lonely around here! =[ I can't wait for him to come back home this weekend!! Work is going just fine after that 'incident'... i just found out how petty people can be, but it doesn't bother me, i just laugh!
I'm selling a bunch of my crap so i can have money for my vacation to FL next month. Know any one who wants to buy a barely used Wii? I'm selling it for $350 with two controllers and two numchucks. Let me know!
The Wii s are sold out everyone, it's crazy!

Today was nice

Lets start off with the good things! When I got off work today, i decided to finally haul off all this scrap cardboard and tons of recycles to the bins! I felt so good throwing all my plastic bottles and school paper in the recycle bins. Go Earth!! =]I also cleaned out my trunk, which had a bunch of CRAP in it- hence it hasn't been cleaned since... LAST may...you can imagine. There was even a STUCK and i mean stuck CD case to the bottom of the trunk liner! I pulled and pulled and pulled! No, it didn't come off- it just broke! Oh well, at least it was my moms! HA!

I pretty much ate the same thing today as i did yesterday, just add some deleesshh grapes, and a couple of doritos. (Bad! i know!) Still no meat for three days! (If you don't count the pizza slices..) AND no pasta since Friday, almost a week now! Go Me!!! I'm really getting the hang of this Raw lifestyle, and i'm starting to love it! I barely hungry now, it's great! No more bloating! I also weighed myself today, and Monday after the hiking trip i weighed 155, and today it was 150! I'm sure it was because i just dropped off a load!! but either way, it was nice to see progress!

WORK

There has been this on-going conflict at work for the past couple months about PT... and when excatly we're supposed to go and do PT (running, etc) and people have been getting away with coming in late and leaving early, jut not fair at all. Andddd since i work in a military work area, i realyl didn't know who to go to about this issue, so i've never said anything..well except to my co-worker- lets call him "bob", and we pretty much have the same views. (as i thought) Welll... today i talked to SSG Ingram, whom i am very close to, about what was going on. At the time, those certain people happened to not be there, otherwise i would have went somewhere else and talked about it... well that was a bad move anyways.. The new guy, lets call him 'Tom', well he was in the next room, and he's part of that 'group' too... i knew i should have left and talked in another room...well anyways- long story short, co-worker 'bob' ended up backstabbing ME, and 'new guy' also ran his mouth to the wrong person... apparently they thought i 'dis-respected' higher rank and should be wrote up for it. WROTE UP? Seriously? For doing the RIGHT thing? I think not! I was so furious, but then again i wasn't suprised.. i mean- who am I a Female to have a say in the workplace? We'll see where this goes. Ummmm strawberries were on sale too, $1.50 a package (1 lb) so i got 4 of them, AND they're ripe and sweet!! YES! Publix had a big sale on grapes too, $1.99 a pound, which was a deal! i got a bag of green and red. =] Pineapples were still pricey. =[ I got some carrots and cucumbers too, both on sale at krogers! Oh, Publix had Flax seed for 2.29 and RAW sunflower seeds on sale, so i snagged them! They also have a big sale on Dole salads, but on get one free!!! I love that, even tho they're probably treated with chemicals..
Oh, i also got some Hummus!!! (it's 'raw' but processed, so does that count?) I never had it before, and i LOVE it now! I mad a hummus sandwich (toasted, not raw bread) and it's great!!
I ended up spending about 65.00 total on all groceries.
Well, so far my Fat Carbs Protein intake is %14 %78 %8
i think i'm doing pretty damn good!

Raw All Day!

Ok, first off- I wasn't 100% completly raw today, but really close- and it feels GREAT! I ate my everyday eggo (not raw) for breakfast along with my smoothie i made last night. YUM! Between breakfast and I sipped on my smoothie and snacked on some mixed nuts. (not raw) I only ate about 6 and then i got sick of eating the salt smothered nuts! I usually eat two bags of pretzels and a bag of nuts before lunch, so that's good!
We had free lunch at the DeFac today (cafeteria) so i went there for lunch. I had my fruit from last night when i thawed it out, but... it becomes soggy afterwards, and i wasn't aware of that. Bummer! So, i went straight to the salad bar and got some! I sooo skipped over the HAM and BACON and CHEESE-- so i put some carrots, olives, and sunflower seeds (not the raw kind =[ ) on top of it. It's rare of me not to put cheese on my salad, because i also do, it's like a must. Not any more! I also got lots of cucumbers and raw BROCCOLI with some ranch dressing. (prob not fat free, and def NOT raw :( ) I also drank a dr. pepper with my meal too, which i felt bad about. I haven't had a coke in over two weeks, but that's all they had to drink, seriously. all the juice was out (as always) and i didn't want to drink water, i drink it all the time. I also had a banana afterwards, and ate it the 'correct' way! (That brown tip on top is gross!!!!) I know have everyone in the office eating bananas the 'correct' way now. Go monkeys!!
After lunch i felt alive and energized, opposed to sluggish and tired like i always did. =] Raw is great!

Cooked food = mean

I ate my cooked pizza, and on my first bite, it bit back! After reading the "No More Bull" book about the beef industry, it makes me never want to eat beef again. So, nevertheless- i did feel sick after eating that pasta, but i really had no other choice. I ate it today for lunch, and once again felt sick. =[

I ate a banana, and two eggos (not a raw food) for breakfast. I was so used to my fruit smoothies in the morning, and that sucked not having one. (being broke is a totally bummer) After lunch, inbetween lunch and getting off work, i ate a bag of fresh raw pineapple, i love that stuff! I find myself eating less and less, and being hungry was less than before. (Which is awesome, because i used to eat and eat and eat all the time!) I have to confess, i came home and ate some doritos, tsk tsk! I was hungry, and nothing else healthier in the house.

Tomorrow i'm going to go to Krogers in the morning before work and buy some fruit! I can't go another day without any fruit! I used to hate bananas, but now i love them! (Ash even made it more fun, now that she informed me that i've been eating my bananas wrong my entire life!) Monkeys eat the banana "upside down" and use the stem as handle for the banana.. and when you peel it that way, you have no 'strings' to pick at! It's great!!

Ok, i'll blog more tomorrow!

Rawsome! The Book

I was first introduced to the "Raw Diet" about a week ago from a friend of mine, Ash- She was a vegetarian for like 7 years, then went Vegan- and now she's a Raw Vegan. What is Raw? It's a healthy lifestyle where you don't eat any animal products, any cooked food, or anything processed. The only exception is that you can dehydrate fruit/vegetables, as long as the temperature doesn't get higher than 110 degrees- otherwise the enzymes would be destroyed, and it would be 'dead' food. The food you eat is considered "live" food, and almost anything you put in your mouth, if you put it in the ground it would grow. Amazing. www.rawguru.com

I picked up the book Rawsome! yesterday while I was in murfreesboro, waiting on my cat to be done with the vet. (Spay and Neuter your animals!!) I have to say, this book had me by the first page! I was hooked! Aaron and a bunch of our friends went camping/rock climbing this weekend- along with Ash- she everything she was talking about this weekend, was in the first 2 chapters in that book!! It's all true! YOU MUST READ IT! If you want to read the first two chapters, i scanned it for a couple of my friends, i'm more than willing to forward it to you!
Not only does this book has vital information, it also has delicious reciepes! (Even key lime pie!!) Most of them require a dehydrator, and takes a long, long time- so i can't wait to start making fresh RAW nutritious foods!

I plan on going 100% RAW starting Monday, the 16th...this isn't just me going RAW, but also vegetarian- NOT eating meat, which is a big thing for me. It's going to be hard to switch over to this lifestyle, but i really think it's going to benefit me in the long run! I'm pretty much convienced myself that I'm going to do it, and i'm not going to quit- or give it to junk food!

The book recommends having a buddy, and since Ash is a new RAW foodist, it will be good to go to someone who has similar experiences. Here, i will blog about my RAW adventures!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rawcora.blogspot.com/2008/06/rawsome-book.html' title='Rawsome!
